Hey there, I’m Chris.
I’m a photographer, writer, bikepacker, mountain bike leader and drone pilot, amongst other things. I like to take off-road journeys by bike, to feel dirt trails under my tyres, to sleep outside, and to document these adventures with images and words. Having started to move away from a near 20-year career as an Environmental Consultant that involved way too many hours sat at a desk, I’m slowly piecing together an alternative based on doing things that I love.

Aerial Photography and Filming
I hold the UK CAA A2 Open Category Certificate of Competence (A2 CofC) and am in the process of completing the UK CAA General Visual Line of Site Certification (GVC), allowing me to legally fly in more demanding locations (such as built-up areas) and closer to uninvolved people.

Mountain Bike Guiding
I'm a British Cycling L2 Mountain Bike (MTB) Leader, qualified to take groups of riders off-road. I’m an Outdoor First Aider, have completed the 'Child Protection in Sport and Active Leisure' training provided by Educare and have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. I am also currently training for the L3 MTB Leader and Night Leader qualifications.
The complications of 2020 put paid to most planned guiding activities but its good be starting to get back out there as 2021! Currently I’m guiding some city, countryside and mountain bike tours in Bath and the surrounding area, with some bikepacking to come later in the year.
